The Artist’s Way Workshop with Sunny Goode and Gincy Plummer

The Artist's Way Workshop is divided into twelve weeks of meetings allowing the participants to take one chapter at a time. The workshop will be led by Sunny Goode and Gincy Plummer.

About Sunny Goode

Sunny is a full time Richmond, Virginia, contemporary artist who graduated from Hollins University with a B.A in Art History in 1990. In her own words, “Color is how I communicate. Even in my earliest memories, color was the primary voice. It is no wonder I became an artist and love to paint. I believe that a painting should make you feel something. I often look back at a series I’ve done and realize that I can “see” very clearly what was going on in my life at that time, in the lines and shapes, but primarily with the colors I used. I tend to paint in a series, working through an emotion or savoring a feeling I get by painting a similar subject with different color variations. Painting brings me joy and also helps me through more difficult times in my life. I often think of it as my mental yoga. I hope my paintings reflect an emotion and create a feeling that gets deeper each time you look at them.”

 

Her work has been featured in publications such as Southern Living, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, and The Washington Post. Sunny lives in Richmond, Virginia with her three children, Presley, Whit, and Beck. She is currently represented by art dealers in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections all over the country.

About Gincy Carrington Plummer

Gincy practices and preaches creativity. She is a well collected artist and leads creativity workshops that include single projects for group bonding and creativity unblocking as well as four– and 12–session workshops. Prior to moving to Park City, Gincy worked with several Massachusetts and Virginia non-profits in both professional and volunteer contexts, developing and running fundraising events (and applying legal knowledge where helpful). While making art and raising four children, she has also been on the boards of several institutions, including Park City Professional Artists Association, Park City Cotillion, the PSTO of the Weilenmann School of Discovery, and the Gray Carrington Scholarship (University of Virginia). She enjoys bringing both creative and analytical skills to every challenge. Gincy worked with startup Me-2U through development and launch. She leads creativity workshops (Art&Soul Creativity Workshops) designed to lead individuals into deeper creative lives and to create creative clusters that are self-sustaining. Her work is collected throughout the United States. She leads workshops in both stand alone and cluster formats, starting with vision boards and progressing more deeply into introspective projects that use both words and imagery to delve deeper.
