Elizabeth Lee

PAINTING

Dentist. Artist. Chef.  Elizabeth Lee is a renaissance gal splitting her time between Richmond and the Northern Neck. She’s passionate about life and all its offerings, following the creative heart wherever it may lead. She holds a BS in Biology from Roanoke College and a DDS from the Medical College of Virginia. Working her way through a bucket list, she was executive chef and co-owner of The Peacock’s Pantry, earning the coveted honor of Best Chefs America, where she was deemed among the top 1% of U.S. chefs in 2013.

In the world of art, she’s a member of Rappahannock Art League and a member and artist-in-residence at Crossroads Art Center. In 2006 and 2007, she was juried into the Maymont Flower and Garden Show and received the 2007 Judge's Choice award for her watercolor, Lonesome Pine. In 2010, she was the featured artist for a solo exhibition at St. Mary’s Woods Retirement Community. Recently, she was invited to show her paintings at the Virginia General Assembly for the 2014 and 2015 legislative sessions, and she regularly contributes paintings to charities for fundraisers.

This feisty Pisces is both right- and left-brained. She considers dentistry to be “the art part of medicine,” and she’s been creating beautiful smiles for more than 24 years in private practice. In 2003, this detail-oriented artist learned to loosen up with watercolor and let the colors flow. With nature as her inspiration, she paints en plein air, from photos and still-life, in acrylic, oil and watercolor.
