Ev Wesson/Blue Heron Art Studio

ILLUSTRATION

Ev Wesson is an artist/illustrator and her Blue Heron Art Studio is located on a beautiful lake in North Carolina. Her art is inspired by many of the interesting and intriguing natural things around her, as well as memories from her childhood and other experiences.

Watercolor is Ev’s passion, and the process begins with a value sketch, color swatches, and detailed line drawing on 140# or 300# cold-press paper.  The piece progresses, with many layers of watercolor glazes, until finished. Other media may be added, if warranted by the subject.

For much of her life, Ev worked as an art instructor, teaching from her home studio, as well as places such as The Pullen Art Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, and The Firehouse Art Center in Norman, Oklahoma.  To her there is nothing more valuable and life-sustaining than creativity.  She enjoys sharing what she has learned with others, including children, teens and adults.

Ev’s BFA was received from The George Washington University, and she studied at Washington, D.C.’s The Corcoran School Art while there.  She also studied art at Virginia Commonwealth University and at Madison College, in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
