Jeannine Metzfield
METALWORK
Jeannine Metzfield turned her spirited creativity to metalsmithing in 2002. She studied metals at Virginia Commonwealth University, The Visual Arts Center, and Penland School of Crafts. She currently teaches metalsmithing at The Visual Arts Center in after-school programs and to private clients. She relishes her studio work and exhibits in area galleries.
Jeannine is passionate about sharing her knowledge and wisdom with eager hands of all ages. Her inspiration is the natural world, the beauty, strength, and intelligence with which it creates conscious relationship among all living things. She says, “What I wish to do is to share with students the experience of what their hands can do, leading them to their own creativity. When we are deeply rooted in the earth, we become centered and are able to find and develop our creative voice.”
