Jennifer Paxton

CERAMIC JEWELRY

All of her life, Jennifer Paxton has loved creating artwork. She began selling painted rocks at age sixteen and continued her path by earning a Bachelors of Science in art education from Louisiana State University. She taught art at the junior and senior high school levels for several years. In 1985, she started her ceramic jewelry business. Jennifer spent about twenty years traveling and selling her jewelry at arts-and-crafts shows. She now mainly works with shops, co-ops, and galleries that carry her handcrafted jewelry.

Jennifer wakes up every morning excited to go to her studio, which is located in beautiful rural Buckingham County, Virginia. Her pieces are made of low-fired earthenware clay using many textures and then finished with a wide spectrum of colorful glazes. The fun she has creating her jewelry is evident in the work, and she intends that those who buy it receive as much enjoyment as she gains from making it.
