Kelly Chenault (KellyGirl)

POTTERY

According to her mother, Kelly Chenault has had glue, paper, and blunt scissors in her hands from the get-go. She has since graduated to kilns, slab rollers, extruders and molds. Making things makes her happy. She is even happier when people enjoy her creations.

Kelly began her pottery and glass business in 2006. She sells in several Richmond locations as well as online. She still considers it a hobby and a joy. It gives her great pleasure to take a 25-pound block of clay and create functional, whimsical works — vases, platters, ornaments, jewelry, frames, etc. You will not see two pieces of work exactly the same.

For seven year prior, Kelly ran a successful business called Eclectickels, creating wire-wrapped accessories for the home. This business kept her extremely busy with shows and selling to local stores and boutiques. Her work was featured on NBC12 and in Style Weekly and Richmond Magazine.
