Laura Gibbs was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and is a life-long resident of the Hampton Roads area. She is a painter and works in a variety of water-based media, and she loves the process of creating, with experimentation being a key factor.
Laura’s work is intuitive and includes working with alternative surfaces and layering of various media and textures. Subject matter is primarily abstract and non-objective.
She participates in a number of outdoor art festivals and juried shows each year. Current and past shows include Stockley Gardens Art Festival, Port Warwick Art and Sculpture Festival, Suffolk Art League, The Artists Gallery, Cultural Arts Glen Allen, and Art on the Square. Laura’s work may be found in private collections both locally and nationally along with the permanent collection of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia.
