Michele Vandelinde is a local artist from Richmond, Virginia, and is a member of Glassy-Eyed Women. She started in graphic design and moved into art that has fewer boundaries. Lately she has been working with a wide range of materials, but in nontraditional ways, using everything from aluminum cans to river stones. “Usually I find the objects and let them decide what they become.” Being open to different mediums has broadened her perspective of art and allowed her to create a unique style. A nature theme is present throughout her work, although it may not always be apparent.
