Robin Grabinska

METALWORKING/JEWELRY + TEXTILES

Robin Grabinska is a full-time artist and designer living in Richmond. She has a wide array of artistic interests and was dubbed “Master Jack” by one professor. She received her Bachelors of Fine Art at Virginia Commonwealth University in fashion design with a minor in craft. She continued her education at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) School for American Craft, where she earned a Masters of Fine Art in metal/jewelry. While at RIT, she fell in love with the hammering process and the transference of energy that passes from the artist to the artwork. The organic textures and forms achieved while hammering are still important design elements in her work.

She shows nationally and works out of her metals studio as artist-in-residence at Grayhaven Winery in Gum Spring, Virginia. She continues her work in the field of fashion with hand-dyed silks, and she teaches textiles and sewing in the Richmond area. She is available to create custom textiles, garments, and jewelry. Her unique art draws inspiration from nature — flora, fauna, and human. She sees her jewelry and sculpture as visual poetry.
