Ronda Dandliker

PAINTING

Ronda Dandliker has a lifelong interest in music and continually explores visual art in various media by taking classes and workshops. She graduated cum laude in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University when she retired from her position as a guidance counselor in Henrico County.

Ronda majored in music in undergraduate and graduate school.  She worked for a few years as a band director before returning to graduate school for a degree in guidance and counseling. From there, she was employed as a counselor at John Marshall High School in Richmond and then an elementary school in Henrico County. During this time Ronda played in various music groups, including an Elizabethan consort (Renaissance instruments) and the Sheen Guild of Music (Renaissance and Baroque instruments), along with other groups in early music and modern and contemporary music and instruments. These ensembles performed and were employed by colleges and by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for outreach concerts.

Ronda has copied the work of the great masters, exploring Renaissance and other techniques in painting, and is exploring the figure in drawing and painting in oil and watercolors. She is a docent for Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and continues to learn more while working at this great museum, and she is a member of various local and national art organizations.
