Tina Crawford

MOSAIC

“Life is seeing bits and fragments, a little at a time; when put together, they make a marvelous picture.”

Tina Crawford, a self-taught mosaic artist living in Williamsburg, Va., sees art in this way before it becomes a mosaic picture. Her inspiration may be sparked by colors and shapes or by an animal, person, or even a building — and the art begins. Tina believes her art is a gift from God with which she has been blessed with since childhood. She delved into mosaics around 2012. One video and a few library books later resulted in the beautiful mosaic pieces she creates today. She hopes others will be inspired from her experience.

An avid recycler, Tina believes that saving the planet is of utmost importance. Her mosaic creations incorporate at least 50% recycled glass, wood, or other items. Seeing something new in old things is a fun challenge, and she believes it allow her to sail through the sky, ride a boat, play or a game, or just let her imagination run wild through color and shapes.
