Troy Bunch

OIL PAINTING  |  IMAGINATIVE REALISM AND SURREALISM

Troy Bunch’s imaginative realism and surrealism usually depicts women juxtaposed with images from nature and dreams. He seeks to produce interesting, thought-provoking, and beautiful paintings that have meaning to him and also personal significance to the viewer. Equally important is the continuous improvement of his skills and technique with each new painting.

Troy’s artistic influences great painters, from Michelangelo, da Vinci, Dali, van Gogh, and Magritte, to contemporary artists such as Nicola Verlato, Olivia, Richard Corben, and Frank Frazetta, among others.

Troy paints with oils, usually on stretched linen, and almost always works from his studio with a combination of natural and artificial light.

Troy has enjoyed drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. This passion has resulted in him working as an illustrator, commercial artist, and graphic designer for most of his life. He has designed and produced a wide variety of commercial art, illustrations, and graphic design for both corporate and government clients. More recently he managed the graphic design/visual communication departments of a national training center and of the headquarters external affairs office of a major federal agency in Washington, D.C.

Troy has an MA degree from the University of Colorado and a BA from Metropolitan University of Denver. Today he works as a full-time fine artist.
